Ioannis Karagiannis was appointed the executive Chairman of the Olympia Group in 2016. Prior to this he was the Advisor to the Management for the Olympia Group, a post he held since 2010. He joined Germanos SA in 1994 as Commercial Director of the Germanos stores, before becoming General Manager of Germanos SA in 1997. In 2001 he was appointed Chief Executive Officer of the company, a role he held for nine years.
Mr. Karagiannis holds a BSc from Greece’s National Technical University in Chemical Engineering and also holds an MBA.
Carla Cico Vice Chairwoman, Independent Non-Executive Director
Ms. Carla Cico has a long career focussed on Technology and Telecommunications in both the public and private sectors and in major markets around the world.
She serves as Chairman of the Board of Commify Group (a Tech Business) and as Board Member of Allegion Plc (Security business ). She previously served on the Board of Directors at Alcatel-Lucent and E 2v technologies and also served as Independent Director at EPTA S.p.A. and World Duty Free. Since 2012, Ms. Cico acts as Senior Advisor. From 2010 to 2012, Ms. Cico held the position of CEO of Rivoli S.p.A., an infrastructure company, and prior to this, she served as CEO at Ambrosetti Consulting.
Ms. Cico served as CEO at Brazil Telecom between 2001 and 2005. As a CEO of Brazil Telecom she was ranking in both Forbes and Fortune, and as ‘best CEO” in Latin America Telecommunications by Reuters. In 1995, she returned to Italy where she worked with Telecomitalia as Director for International Business Operations.
She began her career with Italtel in 1987, in the Beijing office. Between 1993 and 1994, Carla served as Chief Representative of IRI, a state-owned conglomerate with ownership of 100’s of companies with combined revenues in excess of $10 billion.
Ms. Cico holds a Bachelor’s degree in Oriental Languages from the University of Venice, an M.S.E. from the University of London and an M.B.A. from the London Business School, Sloan Program.
Robby Bourlas Chief Executive Officer, Executive Director
Robby Bourlas has started his career in 1999 as Senior Analyst in First Manhattan Consulting Group in New York. In 2003 he moved to London and joined easyGroup of Stelios Hajiioannou. He left the company in 2006 as Commercial Director. In 2006 he joined Olympia Group of Companies as Sales Director of Public. In 2008 he assumed the duties of Managing Director at Public and became the company’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) in 2012. In 2015, he assumed the position of Chairman and CEO at Westnet. Since February 2018 he is the CEO of Olympia Group.
Mr. Bourlas holds a BSc and an MSc from the Department of Mechanical Engineering of Cornell University, New York, whereas he holds an MBA from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Boston.
Christos Kalogerakis Non-Executive Director
Christos Kalogerakis possesses long-term experience as commercial manager in the business areas of consumer products as well as mobile telephony in multinational corporations such as Vodafone and Wind. He entered Olympia Group of Companies in January 2011 assuming the position of Commercial Director of Retail Group. In 2012 he assumed the duties of Chief Executive Officer in Westnet Distribution SA. Since January 2015, he holds the position of the Chief Executive Officer in Public Stores with the vision to establish them as the leading brand in the Greek market offering a unique buying experience and the highest quality of services to the consumers visiting the stores.
Mr. Kalogerakis holds a postgraduate degree in Shipping, Trade & Finance from City University of London, UK, as well as a graduate degree in Business Administration.
Muriel de Lathouwer Independent Non-Executive Director
Ms. Muriel De Lathouwer serves as Board Member of Shurgard (largest EU developer, owner & operator of self-storage centres), of Coderdojo Belgium (free computer programming children’s club) as Independent Board Member and of CFE (an industrial group), Amoobi (a technology company focusing on retail store performance optimization solutions) and CPH (cooperative bank).
From 2014 to 2018 she served as CEO, Managing Director and Executive Board Member of EVS Belgium, an international company and the global leader in live outside broadcast digital video production systems. Between 2013 and 2014, Ms. De Lathouwer served as Independent Board Member at EVS. From 2012 to 2014 she served as Co-Founder of Ariade Carbone, an engineering and environmental consulting firm focusing on sustainable buildings.
She served as Chief Marketing Officer at Base, KPN Group Belgium between 2008 and 2009. She started her career as an IT Consultant at Accenture and joined McKinsey & Company as an Associate Principal from 2001 to 2008 where she served clients internationally on issues in the Media, Telecom and High-Tech sectors. Ms. De Lathouwer holds a Master’s degree in Nuclear Physics Engineering from the University of Brussels and a MBA from INSEAD, Fontainebleau.
George Tsourapas Independent Non-Executive Director
George Tsourapas serves as a member of the Olympia Group Board of Directors as an Independent Director. He previously served as a member of P&G’s Global Executive Leadership Council and a member of the Glad Joint Venture Board of Directors.
George Tsourapas served for 33 years in Procter & Gamble reaching the position of President Global Home Care and Professional Products. He has an extensive track record for leading superior business and organisational results across global organisations in developed and emerging markets. His expertise spans across product and business model innovation, brand creation, organizational transformation, retail strategy and execution, end to end supply chain reinvention, and strategic partnerships.
He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from the National Technical University of Greece and a Master of Science in Management and Computer Sciences from Cranfield University, UK.
Tatiana Fafaliou Non-Executive Director
Tatiana Fafaliou serves as a Board member in the Olympia Group of Companies since 2013. Since May 2017, she is the CEO of Folloe Capital Investors and Director at the Folloe Fund VCIC.
From 2000 until 2004 she worked in JP Morgan in London on European Derivatives Trading and Asset Management, whereas from 2004 until 2007 she held the position of Investor Relations Officer in Germanos SA. In 2008 she assumed the position of Chief Investment Officer of Olympia Group.
Ms Fafaliou holds a BSc Degree in International Economics and Finance from the Athens University of Economics & Business and a Postgraduate Degree in Ecomonics of Transition for Eastern Europe and Russia from London School of Economics.
Giorgos Xirouchakis Executive Director
Georgios Xirouchakis is the General Counsel & Director of Legal Services of the Olympia Group since 2008. Prior to this Mr. Xirouchakis spent two years working for the legal services division of Public (2006-2008) having joined the legal services division of Germanos SA in 2001. Before joining Germanos SA, he has worked in a number of legal firms in Athens, specialising in civil and commercial law.
Mr. Xirouchakis holds a BSc in Economics from the University of Crete and a BSC in Law from the University of Athens. He also has an MBA with a major in Finance from the University of Leicester.
