Public Group: Accelerating Growth with Double-Digit Increase in Operating Profitability and Dynamic Expansion of its Store Network

  • Strong 85.5% increase in consolidated EBITDA in 2024 compared to 2023
  • 14.6% increase in first-half 2025 sales compared to the same period in 2024
  • Expansion and upgrade of the store network across Greece and Cyprus, with the consistent implementation of the €10 million three-year investment plan

Public Group delivered a significant improvement in its financial performance in 2024, with consolidated EBITDA reaching €22.9 million, up 85.5% from €12.4 million in 2023. Recurring EBITDA reached €26.2 million, marking a 30.8% increase compared to €20.05 million in the previous year.

The Group also recorded a significant improvement in its net result, with losses narrowing by 33% at consolidated level and by 27.8% at company level. Positive momentum also continued into the first half of 2025, with sales increasing by up to 14.6% compared to the corresponding period in 2024.

At the same time, the Group continues to implement its €10 million three-year investment plan, aimed at enhancing the customer experience across its physical stores in Greece and Cyprus. In 2024, two new “Public + home” stores opened in Ilion and Heraklion, Crete, while existing locations were renovated in cities including Athens, Piraeus, Volos, Ioannina, Rhodes and Larissa. The expansion of the network continues in 2025, with a new Public store at Smart Park, as well as further openings planned at strategic locations across Attica and the Greek islands.

At the core of Public Group’s strategy remains a seamless shopping experience across all channels, alongside the strengthening of strategic partnerships. The Net Promoter Score (NPS) remained consistently high, reaching 78 across all customer touchpoints. The strategic partnership with Vodafone expanded to 15 shop-in-shop locations during 2024, with further network expansion targeted over the next two years. In after-sales services, iRepair now operates 45 locations within Public and “Public + home” stores in Greece, as well as six locations within Public stores in Cyprus.

Public+, Public’s free loyalty programme, further strengthened the relationship of trust with consumers. One in four transactions is now completed through Public Wallet, confirming the positive response from consumers and the programme’s growing adoption.

Recognising the challenges created by the inflationary environment and consumers’ increased need for flexibility and confidence when making purchases, Public Group focused on strengthening the value it offers. Solutions such as the “Lowest Price Guarantee” and the “Everything Interest-Free” programme, offering affordable interest-free instalments without a credit card, provide greater convenience, affordability and confidence throughout the shopping journey.

Beyond its financial performance, Public Group recognises the critical role its people play in its continued growth and remains committed to investing in a culture of development, collaboration and respect. Through initiatives such as the “Elevate” leadership development programme, broad access to LinkedIn Learning, and targeted upskilling programmes in digital and technology-related fields, the company is creating a working environment where every employee has the tools and opportunities to grow, contribute and excel.

With a clear strategic plan and a strong focus on the customer experience, Public Group continues in 2025 to invest systematically in the development of its physical store network, as well as in services and partnerships that create value and respond to consumers’ evolving needs.
