August 3, 2016

An additional distinction won by SYSTEMS SUNLIGHT, owned by Panos Germanos, in this year’s Northern Greece Greek Value Awards of Nothern Greece 2014, as a result of its continuous attention to the implementation and application of “green” investments and practices.

Since 2001, SUNLIGHT has been applying an environmental management system, (ISO 14001), monitoring the everyday operation procedures of its industrial complex in Neo Olvio, Xanthi. At the same time, the company has recently made a large investment, which in the first phase exceeds €31m and concerns the setting up of the most modern lead acid battery recycling plant of Europe, in Komotini. The first integrated lead battery recycling approach in Greece is presented through SUNLIGHT Recycling, as it includes the full circle of recycling. Namely, the collection of used batteries, the recycling thereof based on international quality standards and the utilization of recycled products for the manufacture of new batteries in Greece by SYSTEMS SUNLIGHT.

This particular distinction is yet another confirmation of the spot-on plan implemented by the company, which successfully combines healthy entrepreneurship and sustainable development.

The award ceremony was held on Friday 14 November at the hotel “The Met” in Thessaloniki during a special event. The praise on behalf of SUNLIGHT was received by Mr. Stefanos KANIDIS, Production Manager of the company. The award ceremony was attended by prominent persons of the business and political stage.
