Integrated Energy Storage Solutions from Renewable Sources
SYSTEMS SUNLIGHT SA – owned by Panos Germanos – is expanding its partnerships outside of Greece, and especially in the region of Asia, through integrated solutions in the area of storage of energy from renewable sources of energy. Specifically, in partnership with SFG Technology, a local partner in Malaysia, it installed, on behalf of TNB – the largest state-owned power company in Malaysia, an integrated battery system for the operation of one of the largest hybrid photovoltaic systems in the world. SUNLIGHT has thus contributed both to the electrification of remote Malaysia villages, and the significant saving of energy.
For the operation of this hybrid system, 960 open type batteries of the SUNLIGHT RES OPzS (2V 20 OPzS 2500) premium range were used, especially designed for the storage of energy from renewable sources, which are manufactured in the company’s state-of-the-art plant in Xanthi. The network is designed to supply with power 16 remote areas of Malaysia, with approximately 3000 residents, where daily needs were served until recently with generators, due to the inability of connecting with the central power network.
The network offers 24-hour coverage of the needs of the residents, while it maximises benefits for the environment through decreasing the consumption of energy. Specifically, within the 20 months of its operation, the system has contributed in saving 260,000 litres oil, producing approximately 1800 MWh.
SUNLIGHT SYSTEMS, continuing its dynamic trajectory, effectively responds to the needs of the global market and provides integrated solutions, while it also contributes in decreasing the carbon footprint by providing a complete range of batteries for renewable sources of energy.
