These distinctions follow the company’s distinction in two award categories during last year’s event and demonstrate the company’s strong focus on to its export orientation as well as the generation of innovation.

During the year 2016, SYSTEMS SUNLIGHT managed to increase its production levels by over 20%, to create 130 new job positions and to make its production plant in Xanthi the second largest of its kind in Europe. The purely export orientation of the company is demonstrated by the fact that 98% of its industrial production concerns exports to 450 customers abroad, to more than 100 countries and across all continents. The major “mechanism” facilitating the achievement of the company’s goals is the emphasis on innovation as the company channels resources of € 4 million per annum into its R&D department.

Collecting the major award of behalf of the company, Mr. Vasilis Bilis, CEO of SYSTEMS SUNLIGHT, stated the following: “The year we leave behind us was one of the best years in our company’s history. The second successive recognition, following last year’s one, in the prestigious Greek Export Awards, in fact with three awards, constitutes a recognition of the course we have chosen with a clear emphasis on export orientation. In tough periods for our country we continue to develop our plant in Xanthi, which is the second largest of its kind in Europe and we continue to create new jobs. The penetration of foreign markets does not constitute an achievement that can be taken for granted. It demands great deal of effort, flexibility and persistence. In SYSTEMS SUNLIGHT we constantly grow, we continue to invest in our extrovert strategy and we search for new opportunities in even more markets”.

The event of Greek Export Awards is organized by the Association of Diplomats for Economic and Trade Affairs (“ENDY–OEY”) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in partnership with Ethos Events and with the economic and financial magazine HRIMA. This institutionalized event of awards aims at promoting and recognizing both the best practices applied in the area of exports as well as the ideas and partnerships among the top export companies of the country.
