Support to Cypriot society in response to COVID-19
With a strong sense of responsibility, the Olympia Group (Public, Westnet, SoftOne) is donating 250,000 euros as a contribution to the collective efforts of Cypriot society in response to COVID-19. The donation is taking place in cooperation with the Ministries of Education and Health.
More specifically, the donation consists of: 1,300 high-end tablets to the Ministry of Education in aid of pupils, while a considerable portion of the donation will be provided to the Ministry of Health to support the Emergency Department of Nicosia General Hospital with medical and technological equipment.
The 1,300 tablets will be delivered to the Ministry of Education by ‘Public’ stores in order to facilitate the educational process for primary school pupils in Cyprus. The devices will be distributed by the Ministry of Education to primary and lower secondary school pupils belonging to low-income families and currently lacking access to the remote education programmes of the Ministry.
Furthermore, the Group will be donating tablets, laptops, printers and other devices to the families of the ‘MAZI’ Association of Relatives and Friends of People with Autism, the ‘Agalia Elpidas’ Cypriot Organisation of Parents and Friends of Children with Cerebral and Other Palsies, as well as the Department of Intra-Hospital Care for Adolescents with Severe Mental Disorders of Archbishop Makarios III Hospital.
The Olympia Group, founded by Panos Germanos, is a proud member of the Cypriot business community since 1998. The Group, which, among other accolades, received an award in 2018 as the best long-term investor, is joining its forces with the competent authorities and citizens in order to overcome the consequences of the crisis as swiftly as possible.
