Following the fire incident that took place on May 1st in a part of our battery manufacturing plant of Systems Sunlight, a member of Olympia Group in Neo Olvio Xanthi, the Board of Management of Olympia would like to inform that:
The management team of Sunlight is in contact and close collaboration with the relevant authorities and stakeholders in the region, and all employees are completely safe and in good health.
The management of the company will immediately proceed to a full assessment of the situation and the damage caused by the fire to a part of the factory, aiming at its quickest restoration. We are committed to restart our production as soon as possible in order to continue to service our customers around the world. During the repair of the damage, all jobs will be maintained. In addition, the company, on its own initiative, has assigned to a specialized Environmental Technical Advisory Company the immediate implementation of additional environmental audits and measurements at the factory site, in addition to the preventive checks carried out by the competent parties.
Mr. John Karagiannis, President of the Olympia Group, stated: “We are very proud of our factory that through systematic work the last 20 years, has become the largest in Europe and exports all over the world. Despite yesterday’s unfortunate, I would like to reassure that we will keep all work positions intact, we will quickly restore damage to the affected part of the plant and we will make it even better than before. At the same time we will continue to cooperate with the local authorities on the matter, whenever this is necessary.”
