Public, member of Olympia Group of Companies, received four of the most prestigious awards in this year’s event “RETAIL BUSINESS AWARDS 2016”, namely the awards Retailer of the Year, Retail Store, Social Media Strategy and Coffee Store.
More specifically Public, the No. 1 retail network of stores in the field of technology and entertainment in Greece with 47 stores all over the country and with 4 stores in Cyprus collected the event’s most prestigious award, “Retailer of the Year”, which recognizes Public as the top retail enterprise for the year 2016. It is worth noting that during 2016, Public demonstrated more than 37 million on-line customers and 25 million visitors to its physical stores. Public Stores offered a wide spectrum of products and services at unique prices supporting at the same the three-principle concept of variety-easiness-economy which is what the Greek consumers look for when they purchase products and services.
With the occasion of the award “Retailer of the Year”, Christos Kalogerakis, Chief Executive Officer of Public, stated the following: “We would like to the thank this very important event which is organized by Direction and which all these years recognizes uninterruptedly and with consistency the best practices in the retail market. This award, especially in a period when the retail market experiences probably its toughest phase, constitutes a reassurance of our actions and efforts while it strongly encourages us to continue serving our customers with passion. Indeed it takes great passion for a purely Greek company to continue venturing in such a business environment, relying at the same time on own resources. This award is dedicated to our 1,700 employees who give their best efforts every day.” Christos Kalogerakis received the award from Vangelis Papalios, Editor-Director of Direction.
The second and very important recognition for Public Stores came with the award Retail Store which was collected for the renovated store at “The Mall Athens”. With a new structure and decoration, new furniture, special signs with useful information and the newly redesigned divisions of Stationery and Gifting, the new store offers a complete as well as high quality purchasing experience to the consumer.
The third award for Public Stores concerned the category Social Media Strategy. Public have managed to administer and handle more than 1 million followers in their social media channels thus achieving an especially high score in terms of customer support as well as engagement with customers through daily posts, tweets, instagram photos, educational videos and with many contests offering great gifts to participants.
Finally, Public collected the award Best Coffee Store for the Public café which is located at the ground floor of Public Store at Syntagma Square, Athens, and which offers every day from 07:30 am until late evening the most delicious food snacks and the most enjoyable drinks within a modern and warm environment resembling to a modern delicatessen spot.
The RETAILBUSINESS AWARDS were organized for 15th consecutive year from DIRECTION and the magazine RETAIL BUSINESS, and constitute the most significant and recognized event of the Retail Market and the Industry. The event takes place every year under the auspices of the Ministry of Economy and Development and is organized in collaboration with the Hellenic Retail Business Association (HRBA) and the Hellenic Confederation of Commerce and Entrepreneurship (ESEE).
