Joern Taubert steps down for personal reasons

Athens May 13, 2021 –Public-MediaMarkt (PMM), the leading omnichannel retailer in household appliances, consumer electronics and entertainment products in Greece and Cyprus, today announced the appointment of Robby Bourlas as the company’s CEO, following Joern Taubert’s decision to step down for personal reasons.

John Karagiannis, Olympia Group Executive Chairman said: “I would like to sincerely thank Joern for his dedication and service to the company. His forward-thinking, leadership, and personal commitment during this demanding time shaped by the pandemic have set the foundation for the launch of a new era at PMM. We wish him all the best for the future, as he returns to Germany to be with his family.”

Robby joined the Olympia Group in 2006 and since then he has successfully taken on various leadership roles across the Group, including as CEO at Public until 2015. He returns to PMM at an important time, as the company looks to further enhance its customer focus and deliver a unique omni-channel shopping experience.
