SYSTEMS SUNGLIGHT, owned by Panos Germanos, and Hanwha Q CELLS are launching their strategic partnership by successfully implementing a demanding project for providing clean energy to MTN Cyprus, a member of the MTN Group, one of the largest telecom providers in the world.

In the framework of this project, SUNLIGHT‘s Energy Solutions division offered integrated proposals for the design, installation and maintenance of autonomous power systems (APS), in order to cover the needs of MTN Cyprus, both at the level of sustainable development and saving of resources, while also ensuring the proper and seamless operation of its base stations.

Specifically, SUNLIGHT installed, in parallel to the existing 24-hour operating generators, a series of innovative hybrid systems at 15 base stations of MTN in the mountain areas of Cyprus. These systems are equipped with Q CELLS Q.PRO solar panels and are supported by SUNLIGHT’s RES OPzV premium range of batteries, which are manufactured in the company’s plant in Neo Olvio, Xanthi.

MTN will reap multiple benefits from this partnership, and will not only save 142,500 litres of oil on an annual basis but will also reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 370,000 kg.
